Located centrally on the Ma-15 Palma to Manacor road, Montiuri overlooks the surrounding countryside from its hilltop situation.

The area is characterised by its windmills some of which are derelict and increasing numbers of which have been renovated for habitation.

There are five disused windmills in the town itself distinguishing it from other local towns.

This is a classic Mallorcan small town focussed on the agriculture of the area as well as being home to people in a range of local industries including craftsmen, factory workers and so on.

This is very much a traditional working rural small town without any evidence of the effects of tourism.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to Montiuri is around 25 to 30 minutes. It is in more or less the centre of Mallorca and other towns close by include Algaida, Sineu, Llucmajor and Manacor.

Property in Montiuri

A mixture of permanent local residents and workers from Palma de Mallorca make up the bulk of the inhabitants of Montiuri. Property here is mainly made up of old traditional townhouses, some of which have been turned into apartments, and there are traditional country properties in the town surrounds.

This is very much a "working" Mallorcan town so not a location for a holiday home. It could provide property options for those seeking to relocate to Mallorca and immerse themselves in the Mallorcan way of life.
