Arguably the prettiest working fishing village in Mallorca, Cala Figuera is a charming small resort village based around a rocky inlet on Mallorca's Southeast Coast.

Cala Figuera has a unique character, with beautiful crystal-clear waters this is a quiet place which has become a popular place for wealthy locals to own second properties as holiday homes.

The main activity here is still fishing, with mostly small fishing boats and a few larger vessels permanently moored in the harbour.

Cala Figuera has a few small hotels and some apartments and townhouses that are rented out to holiday makers. There are some good restaurants and a few nice bars too.

Other than this Cala Figuera is mainly a day-trip destination for people staying in other larger resorts around Mallorca.

There is no beach but the water invites swimming from the rocks or the bathing platforms at one of the local hotels.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to Cala Figuera is around 45 to 50 minutes by car.

The largest town close by is Santanyi which offers a range of shops, restaurants and a very good weekly market. For livelier beach resorts head up the coat to Porto Petro or Cala d'Or.

Campos is another main town that is easily reachable by car and the South Coast resort of Colonia de Santa Jordi is also not far.

A small village, Cala Figuera could be too quiet for many as a base for their holiday, although there are good hotels and some nice restaurants so for those looking for a holiday property in a quiet location this could be a good choice.

The main property types here are apartment conversions in the town, old townhouses and converted fishermen cottages and coastal villa properties built on the rocky cliffs of Cala Figuera bay.
