Illetes is a popular and very characterful seaside resort on the South West Coast of Mallorca. First developed in the 1960's, Illetes is a small resort built on steep rocky shorelines punctuated by a few very nice small coves.

Illetes is very much a resort town and mostly made up of apartments and hotels. It is an older resort and has a unique character which appeals to many people who return regularly.

Illetes has a good beach, some very good restaurants and plenty of bars. Because it is built on a steeply sloping shoreline however it has not expanded much and remains a small and personal environment.

There are a number of famous hotels here, and the Anchorage Club, one of the first and still one of the most exclusive community developments in Mallorca, is also located here.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to Illetes is around 15 to 20 minutes. Illetes is very convenient to many other interesting locations too, including Bendinat, Cala Major, Sant Agusti, Portals Nous and Puerto Portals, Puerto de Andratx and Santa Ponsa.

Inland there is Puigpunyent and Calvia Town, and of course Palma de Mallorca City is a short drive or bus journey away offering its wide range of restaurants, bars and other entertainment facilities.

There are few modern buildings as the area is rocky and slopes steeply to the sea and space is very limited, so many of the older apartments have been refurbished to a high standard befitting the prestige of the area.

Illetes is a location to consider for a holiday apartment in an area with a unique character. It is quieter and has a more sophisticated feel than many of the other busier beach resorts in Mallorca.
