This area is predominantly agricultural with a range of crops including potatoes, tomatoes and a range of other fruits and vegetables being cultivated.
The local produce is highly regarded with some being sold in the local weekly markets, some making its way to Palma, and some being exported to the Spanish mainland.
The area is also known for a number of local crafts including leatherwork and pottery.
There is little evidence of tourism to be found. Muro is the largest town in the area and the strong sense of tradition here is evidenced by the fact that bullfighting still takes place in the Placa de Toros.
