Puigpunyent is a hillside town easily accessible from Palma. It is a classic Mallorcan small town which is close to La Reserve nature reserve and surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, terraced olive groves and other small holdings.

Puigpunyent functions both as a holiday destination and also as a home to many people who work in Palma, so it has the feel of being a real working town and not just a holiday spot.

There are good restaurants here, some excellent authentic "locals" tapas bars, and there are some well-known up-market hotels close by in the surrounding countryside.

The countryside around here is typically beautiful for a Mallorca mountain location. The town is adjacent mountain to Galatzo which reaches a height of 1.026 metres, and it's outline dominates the Sierra de Na Burguesa mountains, notable for their mass of pine forests with classic Mediterranean garriga or undergrowth.

There are about fifteen springs in the foothills as well and the area offers some of the best and most varied walking country in Mallorca.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to Puigpunyent is around 25 minutes minutes by car.

The town is within easy reach of Calvia, Esporles, Estellencs and Es Capdella as well as being an easy drive of cab ride away from Palma de Mallorca, so there is a wide range of pastimes and entertainment on offer.

Puigpunyent is also within easy reach of the great beaches, water sports, golf and other recreational activities available in the South West Coast Mallorca resorts such as Santa Ponsa, Camp de Mar, Illetes, Bendinat and Puerto de Andratx.
