Orient is a small mountainside Mallorca village. It is on the south-east side of the Serra de Traumantana, so is quite accessible.

With only around 50 or so houses in the village this is not by any means a major destination. However, as well as being home to local farmers and land owners, Orient is a sought-after as a second home location by wealthy folk from Palma as well as people from overseas.

There are a few very good restaurants and local bars, and there are some country house hotels in this area that offer high standards of accommodation and excellent menus.

The surrounding countryside offers lovely scenery and there are spectacular views from the village itself. This is a location for keen walkers and nature lovers, and for those simply seeking a quiet and beautiful location as a get-away, either for holidays or for a holiday property.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to Orient is around 35 minutes by car. There are a number of other mountain villages and small towns within easy reach, such as Bunyola, Alaro and Esporles. Santa Maria is a quick drive away and Palma de Mallorca is also accessible for evenings out, so there is a very wide range of entertainment and recreational activities close to hand.

Property in Orient

Properties in Orient consist of old traditional village houses, most of which have been renovated to a high standard. there are also traditional country house / finca properties in the surrounding countryside, many of which are still working farms where sheep are grazed in the terraced olive groves.

Buying a property in Orient should be a consideration for those wanting to own a second home getaway in a beautiful mountain village with great local food and within easy reach of Palma.

Property Prices

Property prices in Orient are moderate for Mallorca as it is a sought-after location but less expensive than country areas closer to the coast. However, this is a small village and there is never a great deal on the market here.
