Located in the South West of Mallorca, Esporles nestles in the foothills of the Serra de Traumantana Mountains.

Historically this was primarily an agricultural town being a centre for the orange and olive groves that are so much a feature throughout this area.

So this is another town to visit if you want to experience a real working Mallorcan small town with tapas bars and resaurants frequented largely by locals and which has escpaped most, if not all, the effects of tourism.

Having said this, Esporles had devloped to become a dormitory town to Palma de Mallorca as well as being a centre of agriculture. It is not really on the tourist map. Visitors are mostly confined to people who are really exploring Mallorca or occassional day-trippers passing throught.

Quite a few cyclists pass through here too. Being in the foothills of the Serra de Traumant\na, sporles is in prime cycling territory.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to Esporles is around 25 minutes. As well as other mountainside towns and villages such as Puigpunyent, Bunyola, Valldemossa and Banyalbufar, Esporles is within very easy reach of Palma de Mallorca meaning all the entertainment facilities of the capital of Mallorca are viable for an evening out and for shopping expeditions.

Increasingly a place to own a second property, Esporles is attractive to British and Spanish alike. Esporles is somewhere to own a property if you are looking for real local culture and not for a holiday hotspot.

There are old traditional townhouse properties, some of which have been renovated and others which are awaiting renovation.
