Properties for sale in Banyalbufar
Banyalbufar is an old Moorish village on the coastline of the Serra de Traumantana Mountains of North West Mallorca.

The name "Banyalbufar" is of Arabic origin meaning 'little vineyard by the sea', a descriptive name that is as apt now as it was in Moorish times. The mountainside terraces they constructed then are still the dominant man-made feature of this beautiful stretch of coastline. Only the type of agriculture has changed since these times, the terraces having been given over to olives rather than the old vines. The viticulture of Mallorca is now based primarily in the lower regions of Santa Maria and Binissalem.

It is a quiet area completely unaffected by tourism excepting for a few cafes catering for day-trippers travelling the road from Puerto de Andratx to Soller, and a few that might be staying in one of the few small rural hotels or inns in the area.

If you are looking for a real get-away from the more touristy side of Mallorca, Banyalbufar should be on your list of places to visit.
