Pollensa Old Town (Pollensa Village) is one of the most characterful locations in Mallorca and consequently it has become one of the island's most popular destinations. The town and the surrounding Pollensa countryside are sought-after locations to own property.

Pollensa Old Town nestles at the Northern end of the Serra de Traumantana Mountains. The Town has a unique character and hosts some of the most enjoyable festivals to be experienced in Mallorca. It is a classic Mallorca Old Town, centring on Placa Major, the main town square which plays host to a Sunday market, where you will find local food and produce along with arts and crafts. The square is a hive of activity, with several cafes and bars.

A popular holiday destination, Pollensa is more a day-trip destination than the neighbouring Puerto de Pollensa. The town itself has a deep history and many attractions, and is a perfect base from which to explore places of interest in the area such as the Lluc Monastery, S'Albufera wetlands, Formentor Peninsula and, of course, the super beaches of North Mallorca and around the Bay of Alcudia.

Pollensa is medium-sized town for Mallorca, which is small by UK standards! It has 3 grand churches including Nostra Senyora dels Angels, Nostra Senyora del Roser and the 16th century baroque Convent de sant Domingo which doubles-up as the Pollensa Museum.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to Pollensa is around 35 to 45 minutes. Pollensa is also within easy reach of Puerto de Pollensa, Puerto de Alcudia, Campanet, Cala de Sant Vicenc and a number of other interesting locations.

With a mixture of old and new properties, beautiful countryside and a wide variety of activities, this is a great area both for holiday homes and also to live permanently.

Pollensa Old Town is made up of characterful townhouses, some of which have been renovated to provide luxurious homes and others of which are still awaiting renovation. Some have also been converted into apartments. Prices in the town are comparable to other popular old towns such as Andratx Old Town and Soller Old Town.

In the surrounding countryside there are some of the best country house finca properties in Mallorca including old country properties that have been renovated and new-build country houses.

Planning permissions are strictly adhered to so the price of country house properties in Pollensa is relatively high, but still an excellent investment due to the high demand and limited supply. This is one of the prime locations in which to own a property in Mallorca.
