Campanet and Buger

Campanet and Buger are typical of small towns in North Mallorca. These are two of the most interesting in terms of property as they are close to Pollensa and the resorts of the North coast as well as being readily accessible from Palma.

Campanet and Buger are both built on hilltops overlooking the countryside of North Mallorca with the Serra de Traumantana in the background. Both towns are quite close to each other with Campanet being just to the north of the Ma-13 motorway from Palma, and with Buger being just to the south of the road. In fact you can see one town from the other with nothing much but countryside in between.

These towns have a great authentic character and feel to them, with old traditional townhouses with shutters built on the hillside around the town squares. They are working communities with residents mostly working in the local agricultural industries or commuting to Pollensa, Puerto de Pollensa, and also to Palma to work in tourism or other areas of commerce.

These are peaceful places (except during the many fiestas!), and entertainment focusses mostly around the small tapas bars and restaurants in the towns.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to either Campanet or Buger is around 30 to 35 minutes by car. Both towns are within easy reach of Sa Pobla for major shopping trips, Pollensa Old Town and also the resorts of Puerto de Pollensa and Puerto de Alcudia.

Property in Campanet and Buger

Properties in Campanet and Buger are mostly old traditional townhouses some of which have been renovated and some of which are still in their original state. There are some newer apartment developments too. In the outskirts there are some country villa properties and there are country house properties dotted around the local countryside.

Campanet and Buger are well worth considering if you like the North of Mallorca but find the property prices in Pollensa too high for your budget.

Campanet in particular is increasingly popular as a location for those seeking a traditional holiday property in Mallorca, or a semi-permanent / permanent residential properties in a "proper local" area rather than a resort town

Property Prices

Property prices in Campanet and Buger are lower than other better-known North Mallorca locations such as Pollensa.

Yet Campanet and Buger have a similar authentic Mallorcan atmosphere and are also, as already stated, within easy reach of the coast.

For these reasons we regard Campanet and Buger as very interesting places to consider buying both in terms of having a lovely home and also the investment potential.
