Porto Cristo is a picturesque old fishing village which still retains its original character and has grown as a centre for boating on the East Coast as well as a centre for tourism and other forms of local commerce.

The area around Porto Cristo is a very popular holiday destination for those looking for lovely scenery. It is situated on a strikingly pretty and varied coastline with excellent beaches and rocky inlets.

There is a wide range of things to do both in and around Porto Cristo. Activity in the town focuses on boating and the marina, and there is a beach in the town too with other great beaches along the coast.

Porto Cristo has easy access to other coastal resorts such as Cala d'Or, Porto Petro and Porto Colom, although it has a more peaceful and, perhaps, more sophisticated atmosphere than Cala d'Or and the larger resorts further up the East Coast such as Cala Ratjada and Cala Millor.

Accessibility

The journey time to Porto Cristo from Palma airport is around 55 to 65 minutes by car. Porto Cristo is within easy reach of the resorts of Sa Coma and Cala Millor, as well as Manacor, the capital town of the East Coast.

Property in Porto Cristo

There is a wide range of properties available in Porto Cristo. There are some small community apartment developments, resale apartments in the town, and there are villas and country house properties in the surrounding countryside.

Porto Cristo is an area to consider if you want an East Coast property in, or close to, an all year round community.

Although the town and port are not perhaps quite so picturesque as say, Porto Colom or Puerto de Andratx, Porto Cristo has an authentic "real-town" feel to it.

In many ways, is like other parts of the Mallorca coast were perhaps 10 or 15 years ago. For this reason there are more British looking to move here permanently on relocating to Mallorca.
