Porto Colom is a very attractive and distinguished fishing harbour and holiday destination. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful natural harbours in Mallorca

As well as being a fishing port, Porto Colom used to act as the port for Felanitx which is a short distance inland and is the main town in this area. Porto Colom is known for its fish restaurants and there is a definite Spanish feel and air of sophistication to the town.

Whilst Porto Colom has seen some development, this is mostly on the outskirts and the town has remained largely untouched by tourism. There are no community developments or large hotels in the town.

The old fishermans cottages that line the harbour offer a classic image of Mallorca, one that draws artists and photographers to the spot as well as day-trippers and holiday-makers.

The coastal scenery here is stunning, with sand dunes surrounding the harbour and running up the coast. The countryside inland from Porto Colom is more flat that most coastal parts of Mallorca and has an agricultural feel to it.

Accessibility

The journey time from Palma de Mallorca and the airport to Porto Colom is around 50 to 60 minutes by car. Porto Colom is also within easy reach of other East Coast locations such as Cala Murada and Cala d'Or. The largest town is Felanitx which is a short drive inland.
