Port Adriano and El Toro

Port Adriano is a marina-side resort that has undergone an extensive redevelopment over the past few years. El Toro close by is less well known, but set to increase in popularity among property buyers looking for a residential location close to the marina.

Port Adriano grew from a small fishing harbour when some apartment developments were built behind the port in the 1980s. A cafe bar on the small beach added to the appeal for holiday makers and a few restaurants were added along the quay.

Since then Port Adriano has become one of the primary leisure marinas on the Southwest Coast of Mallorca. Over the last few years it has been expanded with more moorings, restaurants, cafe bars and boutique shops, creating a vibrant and chic quayside environment.

Aside from boating, there are many sporting and other leisure activities in the area. The Santa Ponsa Country Club and several golf courses are a couple of minutes drive, as are the amenities of Santa Ponsa.

El Toro is next to Port Adriano. There are some apartment developments directly overlooking the port and, behind this, a more residential area with shops, restaurants and villas.

Better known to the Spanish, El Toro is set to increase in popularity with international buyers wanting to be close to the port. As well as being a prime location for luxury holiday properties, easy access to Palma and the international schools makes it a good place for permanent living.

Also close by is Nova Santa Ponsa, another prime residential location. Palma and the airport are about 25-30 minutes by car.

Properties and prices

Port Adriano and El Toro offer a mix of community apartments, modern townhouses and villas. Some of the best community development in Mallorca are located just behind the port. Property prices are at the higher end for the Southwest Coast of Mallorca but the area should be a good investment with the marina redevlopment being more or less complete.

Apartments in the older developments overlooking Port Adriano can be bought for just under €300,000. In the newer developments they start from around €350,000 with sea view properties and those with good outside space costing more. Townhouses sell from around €480,000 and detached villas from €1,300,000.
