Not everything on this part of the MPP site is directly about properties in Mallorca. As well as helping people to find and buy the right properties here, the site is intended to help people choose the right areas, and to get a flavour for Mallorca in general.
So as well as listing the most interesting proprieties selected from our partners across the island, this Blog section of the MPP website will be showing articles on difference locations, events, places to visit and general points which, hopefully, will be of interest.
The first posting in this context is the V Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca 2009. This is a regular event with classic cars from Mallorca and all over Europe competing in a rally stages through various scenic locations in Mallorca including Soller, Capdella, Galilea, Calvia, Sa Calobra, Esporles and Pollensa. This years event ran from last Wednesday evening the 18th March through to the final track-day event in LLucmajor yesterday (Saturday 21st March).
This year was the biggest and most successful rally so far. Particularly because the event is gaining recognition in the classic rally fraternity, and also because the BBC Top Gear team are doing a feature on it for their forthcoming summer series.
For anyone with an interest in classic cars the even was fantastic. With over 70 entries thrashing through the wonderful Serra de Traumantana Mountains, this was truly the place to see these pieces of automotive history in action. Here are some photos (quite a few) if you are interested. And we managed to discern the winning results as below. No doubt the excellent Top Gear production team and film crew will have some great shots too when it goes on air this summer.

FINAL RESULT
1st was the Spanish classified Mallorquín Fernando Dameto in a Ford Escort. 2nd was Monsonís-Ramirez and his Porsche 911. 3rd was a Lancia Fulvia driven by Mike Menden.
