Marratxi

Located just to the north west of Palma, Marratxi is in fact the name for the combined villages of Sa Cabanta and Portol, both well known for the production of pottery. Being located just off the Ma-13 motorway from Palma to the north, Marratxi is very convenient for Palma and so these days also acts as a dormitory town for Palma de Mallorca.

Being comprised of the old traditional Mallorcan villages Sa Cabanta and Portol, Marratxi is classic Mallorcan small town and has a mixture of types of property. Mostly traditional townhouses at the centre, some of which have been turned into apartments, and a mixture of traditional and more modern country house and villa properties on the outskirts and in the surrounding countryside.

This is not a location for holiday homes, but does offer opportunities for those seeking to relocate to Mallorca and perhaps live and work in Palma. Prices of property Marratxi are lower than the better known coastal areas close to Palma along the south west coast.
